# Oxymetazoline Nasal Spray (Sinex) ## Overview Oxymetazoline is a topical decongestant that acts as an alpha-adrenergic agonist. It causes vasoconstriction of the nasal mucosa, reducing swelling and congestion. ## Primary Indications Nasal congestion associated with the common cold, allergic rhinitis, or sinusitis. ## Adult Dosing * **Formulation:** Typically 0.05% nasal spray. * **Dosing:** Administer 2-3 sprays into each nostril every 10-12 hours as needed. * **Maximum:** Do not exceed 2 doses in a 24-hour period.
