# Miconazole Vaginal Pessary ## Overview Miconazole is a synthetic imidazole antifungal agent. Vaginal pessaries are designed for localized treatment of vaginal fungal infections. ## Primary Indications Treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis (yeast infection). ## Adult Dosing * **100 mg pessary:** Insert one pessary vaginally at bedtime for 7 consecutive nights. * **200 mg pessary:** Insert one pessary vaginally at bedtime for 3 consecutive nights. * **150 mg pessary:** Insert one pessary vaginally at bedtime for 2 consecutive nights (this formulation may be less common). ## Pediatric Dosing Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 12 years of age have not been established.
