* Cerebral vascular insufficiency.
## Adult Dosing
* **Peripheral vascular disease:** 10-20 mg orally three to four times daily.
* **Cerebral vascular insufficiency:** 10-20 mg orally three to four times daily.
Dosing may be adjusted based on patient response and tolerance. The maximum recommended dose is typically 20 mg four times daily.
## Pediatric Dosing
There is no established pediatric dosing for isoxsuprine hydrochloride.
## Dose Adjustments
No specific dose adjustments are recommended for hepatic or renal impairment. However, caution and close monitoring are advised in patients with these conditions due to potential for altered pharmacokinetics.

* **Sympathomimetic agents:** Concurrent use may lead to additive cardiovascular effects (e.g., increased heart rate, blood pressure).
## Monitoring
* Blood pressure
* Heart rate
* Signs and symptoms of peripheral vascular disease improvement
* Adverse effects
## Clinical Pearls
* Onset of action may take several weeks.
* Effectiveness in cerebral vascular insufficiency is less well-established compared to peripheral vascular disease.
* Discontinue if no improvement is noted after a reasonable trial period (e.g., 3-6 months).
