### Overview
Hepamerz is a combination of two amino acids, l-ornithine and l-aspartate, used in the treatment of hyperammonemia, particularly in hepatic encephalopathy.
### Primary Indications
* Treatment of latent and manifest hepatic encephalopathy.
### Adult Dosing
* **Oral:** 3 sachets (18 g total) per day, divided into three doses.
* **Intravenous:** 5 g to 10 g (as l-ornithine l-aspartate) per day, infused over 30 to 60 minutes. The exact dose and frequency depend on the severity of the condition and patient response.
### Pediatric Dosing
